Opposing corruption is religion in itself: Sri Sri
VADODARA: Religious people's opposition to corruption is also a religion in itself. These were the words of spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, who is camping in Vadodara to attend Deepotsav celebrations.
An advance meditation course has begun in his presence. He stressed that if all selfless individuals agree to work for the nation then that will be very beneficial for the society.
"Our country needs sincere and honest people to serve the nation," he said on Saturday evening, while addressing more than 2,500 participants who are attending the course which will end on October 31.
"Self realization is the ultimate goal of life. First of all learn to remain happy from within and serve the society and feel the connection with the divine," said the religious guru, adding that depression in individuals has increased drastically in the society.
"One of the major reasons - today's man is moving far off from religion and spirituality. One should look upon saints and spiritual people with respect. When one works skillfully, success will surely be yours. Greed leads nowhere," said the founder of The Art of Living.
Emphasizing on purity, Sri Sri said there are seven types of purity. "Purity of food is through pure cow ghee. Purity of wealth is through donation. Purity of intellect is through knowledge. Purity of deeds is through seva. Ayurveda is for purification of body while purification of mind and feelings is through 'bhajan' and 'satsang'," he said.
At M S Hostel campus on Sama Savli Road, around 200 youths are undergoing the Art of Living Art excel and Yes workshop which is a combination of yoga, meditation, learning through games along with 'Sudarshan Kriya'.
